Any gun afficianados here?

This question is very easy for me....I grap those that is the closest to the bump. If in the living room, I would take the hallway. If the garage, I will retrieve the one in the kitchen and so forth. If you are in the backyard, sniper timeeee :D with a warning shot!!!

In regards to your father's suggestion, don't believe him. If that particular bullet can go through walls, it can sure go thru flesh tooo--isn't this the purpose? Help your intruder out!!! you don't want to shoot him and the bullet in there for later pain. One pain is enough :D

So when you hear a "bump" in the night, which gun do you grab? In other words, what would you choose as a home defense weapon?

I recently bought a Beretta model 92 9mm for home defense which came recommended by friends and my neighbor who owns the gun shop. My father-in -law says it's no good for home defense because the bullets could go through several walls. He said a 45 would be better.

I wanted a pistol so that I could keep it inside a gun safe as I have two boys 10 and 12.

The same one that SWAT and Special Forces do. The HK.
I do not have any children yet, so I'm not worried about whats on the other side of the wall. the 9mm is a high velocity round that will go through the intruder, the wall behind him, and into your childs bed. Thats why you dont shoot a 9mm in the house.

The .45 is a much larger and slower round. It generally wont penetrate the intruder and the wall. So if you do have children in their own rooms, go with the .45 vs the 9mm.

Once I do have children, I'll grab the 12 gauge with 00 buckshot.

BTW, the HK in the pic I posted in the HK-94. It's not Class III.
It just has an FBI trigger housing. It's still Semi Auto.

Jagtiger, is yours similar with a barrel shroud to give it the SD look. If so, where did you get it and how well does it look.

12 gauge with the 00 buck shot would be my choice too. I keep the Sig close to the bed though. I have no children either so I am more concerned about how many wall I CAN shoot through. When I was a teenager my friends father built a new deck on the front of his house. My friend and I used a crane to remove the old solid cement steps to use as a back stop for shooting our .22 rifles. The steps lasted about five years without much damage. When we turned 18 and each of us bought high powered rifles the steps were gone in one weekend. :D

Does anyone reload their own rounds? If so have you experimented with the powder amounts?

hEY Jguidry,

Nice setup! I love that preban HK94! Where did you get the Flashhider? Is it custom? The SD shroud on mine looks alright! Could u pls post more pics..looks awesome!!

You definitely need a M4 Hanguard on that Flattop upper!

MAN...I'm amazed...WOW..

Most of you guys are armed to the TEETH....:D :D :D

Donwon, gotta love those PISTOLs! Really cool!

I agree with most of you the .45 cal has the stopping power without the over penetration.

I use my Les Baer 1911 Custom .45 and Kimber target Elite II for competition - I'd tell you the 1911 is awesome to shoot considering it's ancient technology.
Very accurate and reliable if you know how to care of it - just like our NSX!

Hey Steve,

I also do my ammo reloading - I have the Dillon XL650. I would reccomend Dillon if ever u guys thought of doing your own reloading.

Regards

My father a huge gun advocate and collector. We have around 90-100+ guns around the house heres an older picture of some of the guns on display.... I'll have to get a better one once I am home on break.

Here's most of the 94 stuff... The Flash hider is custom, I had it made to match the one from M4. Looks 100x better then the factory barrel shroud. I still have the original barrel and shroud so I can return it to 100% stock. (like that will ever happen)

I have very few accessories for the M4. I keep buying new guns instead. I have yet to complete one. Still need the "K" grip, Folding Stock and claw mount for the 94. And now a SD barrel shroud!

I am getting a few Aimpoints for x-mass. How do you like the trijicon? I looks BAD ASS on the M4!

BTW, Is your SD Shroud from E&L?

It's been a long time since I pulled everthing out, so enjoy! Isure did!

My dedication to guns is such that they've become an everyday tool at work. :D
I also have an interest in baseball for the bats. :D

Do you have an interest in the red-ball? :D

Thanks...

Our company contracts a lot of machine shop work.
One of the shops did it for free, just a perk of the job I guess...

It was coppied from the one off of my M4.
I doubt another one exists. I just hated the long barrel of the 94.
And the factory barrel shroud makes it looks cheap.

The SD barrel shroud was not available when I got it. I did see a few cans welded over the barrel, but they prevented the use of the tac-light. This hider has a 1mm clearance between it and the light. It's about a large as you can go with the tac-light

hey Jonathan,

I agree..That custom FH looks so much better compared to the factory..I'm sure It would be quite expensive to custom order the FH...Anyway...It's the BEST EVER looking HK94 I've seen so far!!!

Regards!

wow ! do you have the hummer and gun turret to go along with that?! one of my favorite guns.

Ok Jguirdy ... you are THE MAN. If apacolypse suddenly happens, can I come over to your house?

As for turrets ... I have seen a swiveling one that mounts on a jeep that should fit that .50 cal just fine.

How many rounds can you put through that before the barrel starts to glow orange?

<B>jagtiger</B> : The Samuari chick's real name is <B>Christine</B> (see <A HREF="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=16478&perpage=50&pagenumber=7">bottom of this page</A> for proof)

So i'd take you up on that offer for the guns...except getting them into Australia past customs could be a problem.
Maybe Mr.Wolf has the right connections. :p

<B>JGuidry</B> : hmm.... tasty... i do like that. Thanks for sharing. <IMG SRC="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif">

Grendel p-30 30 shot .22 mag, clip fully in the grip. It was produced for 6-8 months then banned by Clintons 10 shot mag rule.

Did I win?

Jonathan,

Is the .50 cal for sale? Is it class 3?
man...I cant imagine the peoples reaction if you bring that grand daddy in the firing range!!

Trivia: What is the highest capacity hand gun in the world?

Not sure but ill bite. Glock 18 came with optional 32. (pre-ban of course) Also was able to stick the +2 addition on the bottom of the magazine. One in chamber=35. This of course is not fully in the grip, looks like a boomerang.

If you are talking about from the factory, I remeber calico used to manufacture 50 rounds helical magazines for m950 and liberty models and 100 rounds for the .22 versions.
