Calgary Supercars and me...

Zahir actually allowed a lowly NSX (as he refers to the car) to be part of his fllamboiant Exotic Rides???? I guess I should go out and purchase a lottery ticket because the planets must have aligned without me knowing..... <sigh>

BTW, were you aware that the originator of the "Exotic Cruises" were that of Doug Hall with Ultimate Motor Cars and not Zahir. Zahir with the Ferrari/Lamborghini pose have pretty much excluded anyone with any type of super nice cars to be part of these things. I leave it be personally as I've heard lots of horror stories from some of the road trips in which these testosterone bloated owners break every rule imaginable because they are so wealthy and can pay any lawyer whatever it takes to not be hit with the legal woes. (i.e. speading in excess of 250km/h through the parkway, and even pitching a Ferrari into the ditch and writing it off....).

Glad you could be part of something like this in some ways and sorry you were in other ways. I think we should do a cruise that doesn't limit the involvement of the stupidly rich and instead excludes them. Something like BMW's, Porsches, Mercedes, Acura, Viper, Lotus, etc.

I like the idea of this, after the last Chestermere meet went so well, I've thought about including the Corvette and BMW guys and seeing what we could make of it, the problem starts when you get too many people though, all it takes is one idiot to ruin the fun and there are some in every group.

As for Zahir, I've now met him twice and both times he was amazingly friendly, all I can go on is my own experiences.

Funny but the one big exotic cruise I have been on, the lambo guys and some others were driving like insane devil may care freakazoids.

Unfortunately my experience wasn't so nice I guess. When I was looking to purchase my NSX I looked at one he had on his 'lot' for a number of months. It was overpriced of course, but aside from that was his erogant attitude to anyone that would consider themselves a lover of a Japanese ride like the NSX. He called it a piece of crap and said he would never have another one on this lot again. That pretty much sealed up his fate in selling me any kind of vehicle - regardless of what I could afford to purchase. Then I caught wind of how he funds his ways by living off the avails of others that are caught up in lifes troubling times - i.e. payday loans, cash stops, etc. You know the places that charge interest on interest up to 60% per month?? The stores the Feds are investigating and are currently seeing litigation on??? His father was the owner of all the Nickleodeon Jean outlets in the 80's. His brother Al Rana owns and operates Pawnshop Superstore and the disc exchange. LOTS of money in the family to say the least.

Can you honestly say you would feel good about making a purchase worth an exhorbitant amount of money like people pay for some of these rides from a gaffer that looks like this???

The same nice guy that will use his power of money to get away with this which no one else on Prime would get away with??? Makes you wonder if this is the same guy???

Anyway all these things and many others sealed up things for me. Can't reverse it sorry. Its really my loss in many ways because he clearly has a passion for some fantastic automobiles and if I didn't have morals I would love to be involved in the automobilia portion of what he does. Again glad you were able to be around some super nice rides - owners aside. :)

As far as the Vette BMW owners, it would have to be some really responsible owners. I track with owners of both cars and yes there is always just that one rotten apple in the crowd that can quickly ruin it for all. I think this is one of those start out small things where you earn your respect and build up repore with others. Then add a couple of people here and there based upon personal references and the like. Having people participate blindly is a 50/50 chance.

JMO.

Take care
Tim

I enjoy high end cars more than I value my morals. I'm a complicated man.

Hey Tim...I agree with you brother! I know the man and met him when he had a silver countach and ran the jean shops in the north west. I have run into many people who are of his ethnic and religious background and they will not have anything to do with him! I love cars...but morality hits home...as for the actual meets...I prefer the small intimate ones...that way I can get to know people. Have been busy this year with my book and I have not even taken the NSX out since Christmas...I may take her out in a few months...but there is no real rush...just owning my beauty is good enough for me.

Gods speed all

Any idea if there are any NSX meetings this year?
Thanks

Why don't you organize one, most people are fairly eager to get out on a nice day and meet other car enthusiasts. My suggestion would be to invite people from other car forums as well since the NSX is so rare it's hard getting enough people.

I still miss my NSX, I want a targa next.

Cody you bugger! Nice to see you lurking on this forum still

I'll rent you my nsx for a weekend so you can get your 'fix' in

Wil
