On a particularly hot day two weeks ago I had the check engine light come on under normal street driving conditions. Turned off the car to recycle the computer and the light returned after 10 minutes driving. Checked the trouble code after shorting out the diagnostic connector - code readout was 44 (Rear Fuel System Supply). Light has not come back on after 700 miles driving.
Question - what could be the root cause? Possibly vapor lock type of condition?? (The day it ocurred was 90+ degrees, 90% humidity).
Any thoughts???
