Hi

I am going to be putting on some preowned exhaust parts and am just wondering do any of you guys clean it thoroughly before installation? I sure want to clean it up best I can externally AND internally prior to installation (even though both aesthetically and performance wise should be little to no difference) Is cleaning the inside of the pipings even possible and can it be a DIY thing? How would you guys do it and with what?

Thanks!!

I don't know about cleaning the inside of an exhaust but I'm pretty certain you can have the inside of your headers cleaned out. Take it to a professional who will sand blast the header for you to remove all the crud inside. Then ceramic coat it. Currently I'm getting my used Comptech headers cleaned and coated and they gave me an estimate of 200 dollars for the pair.
