The rear valance on an NSX comes from the factory in raw black satin finish. What you see as the finished product on a car as shiny, is the clearcoat that is sprayed on.
The clearcoat on NSXs is clear. Exception - the clearcoat on a red NSX is actually tinted a shade of orange.
I will be having a new valance installed; however, I will not have it painted all red. I will retain the factory red-black-red color scheme. When a new valance is painted red on the sides, do they actually use the two different clearcoats, separating each with masking tape?
