Check your sway bar end links first. How many miles on the car?
If you decide to replace your ball joints, definitely do the upper and lower at the same time. I would consider using the ball joints from www.carbon6composites.com I have several of their suspension products on my car and they are quality products.

Just for clarity. Noise when turning, as in turning the steering wheel left to right with the car not moving, or the car turning when going around a corner?
One thing to check would be wear in the bushing on the steering rack. The search function on Prime will give you a number of leads to investigate.
