Connection between shift knob and boot ?

I recently purchased an authentic NSX R shift knob. If I understand correctly, in order to use this knob w/ my stock 93' leather shift boot, I need some kind of aftermarket clip ?

I bought that special clip back in 2007 to use the SOS
zanardi style knob with my 92 boot.

You can connect the OEM boot to any aftermarket knob.

why not remove the silver clip from the OEM boot and use a "NSX-R" zip tie like they did with the NSX-R shift boot.

I have many of these "NSX-R" zip ties that I would gladly give you one for free.
