Driver's side door not detected as open

I could have sworn I posted a thread about this before but I can't find it now.

My driver side door is never detected as being open, not a big deal during the day, but at night that means my interior lights don't turn on. It also means that my ignition switch isn't illuminated. Like I said, not a big deal, but annoying nonetheless. The passenger side works fine no issues.

The even stranger thing is that if it gets really hot out (like high 90's, 100's) and my car's been sitting in the sun a while then the door will detect just fine. No issues, but once I've driven it a bit and it's cooled back down it goes back to no longer detecting the door as being open.

I figure it must be something in the lock mechanism but I'm not sure what it is and didn't see anything specific about it in the manual. Anyone have any ideas of things I could check out?

Thanks

I think the problem is in your door microswitch
On page 23-198 there is a test for checking continuity
Perhaps it's worth a look at this area.
