When I read Ned Stark's death, I was pissed. But when I read that scene, I threw the book across the room.

George Martin certainly spend a lot of time building up these characters and just kills them off.

All I hope is that now that he's a huge hit on T.V. he will start writing faster.

They've had some pretty crazy moments in the show but this one definitely takes the cake. Makes me wonder how the finale is going to be able to top it!

It won't. The series history seems to be big splash in episode 9, episode 10 wrap up and set up for next season.

But the set up usually involves a big reveal...season 1's is still my favorite.
