Hi there, I am considering buying a ’91 NSX and I’d appreciate some advice before I go ahead. 4 things that I’d like advice on are 1-reliability, 2-non OEM wheel/tire combo, 3-lowered suspension, 4-subwoofer.
1-Reliability: I get the impression that the NSX is quite reliable and lower service costs compared to other sports cars (i.e Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, TVR and some other turbo Japanese cars), is this true?
2-non OEM tires: The car I’m interested in is not fitted with the OEM wheels/tires; is the cars handling seriously affected (badly) because of the traction control by not using the OEM tires? If it’s OK to fit non-OEM tires, will Racing Hart C2 rims fit the NSX (e.g Front 17x8, Rear 18x9.5) and how much do these cost plus what are the best (or advised) non-OEM tires to fit?
3-Suspension: I would possibly like to lower the car by about 1-1.5 inches. I have seen that lowering springs are available by Eibach, H&R, Comptech. I’d like to keep the cars ride/handling qualities as close to stock as possible. Which springs would you advise and has anyone had any adverse experience with any of these products?
4-Bass: I love my music, so I must be able to fit a subwoofer somewhere (obviously not in the trunk). I have heard that some people have managed to squeeze a 10” sub in the passenger footwell, what work would this require (i.e. cutting). Has anybody tried Pioneers TS-WX30 box subwoofer or similar product?
Thanks.
