This clip speaks for itself -- literally. The Columbus Dispatch discovered a homeless man along Ohio's I-71 claiming to have "the God-given gift of voice." His name is Ted Williams, and he's an ex-radio announcer according to the note he scrawled on a piece of cardboard that he uses to solicit change from drivers. And wow, does Williams ever deliver for a dollar. Williams tells the Dispatch about his struggles, but thankfully "alcohol and drugs and a few other things" haven't diminished Williams' velvety vocal cords, and he says he's two years clean now.

"I have a god given gift of voice. I'm an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you and God bless. Happy holidays," says Williams' roadside sign for help.

Like Williams, the radio industry has fallen on hard times in the past decade, but given the viral power of this video, we expect more than a few morning show and late-night appearances, and perhaps even a job, will be in Williams' near future. In fact, Reddit reports that Ted has already been tracked down by Columbus area radio show The Morning Zoo and will appear on tomorrow morning's show, so tune in!

Something about his honesty and how humble he is, makes me hope 2011 brings him better times.

there are reports he's been offered a job with the cavaliers.

whatever happens, i hope he's able to maintain positive momentum. (btw, i can't help but think he'll be on oprah soon and not long after, have a book, tv and movie deal :)

NFL Films has also shown interest in him.

Looks like things for him could get turned around pretty quickly for the better. If they do, I hope he stays clean.

"CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered a job to a homeless Ohio man with a golden radio voice.

Ted Williams, whose deep baritone and plight have made him an online video sensation, was contacted Wednesday by the Cavs.

Team spokesman Tad Carper said details are still being worked out on a possible position for Williams. "

Wow, what an awesome awesome story. That made my day. Thanks for posting this. :)

Breaking news: I heard he turned down the job with the Cavs and is taking his talents to South Beach.

Nice attitude...may be the reason he got into trouble in first place. Hope he won't repeat.

Amazing - How technology can bring things together?

Why would you say that? Just because he turned down the offer from the cavaliers you assume he is going to repeat. I think he may have a lot of offers coming his way, I don't see the need to jump on the first one.

I think the turning down of the Cleveland offer was a jab at LeBron.....

Maybe cause he was to nice and trusted the wrong people? To bad I dont own a radio station. I would hire him in seconds. Hes going to find some great job thats for sure.

After re-reading goa360 post I think I read it wrong, I took it as sarcasm, since he turned down the Cavaliars offer. if he meant it sincerely then I see your point.

goa360, apologies, I took your post in a cynical way...my mistake:redface:
