how many NSX owner in Colorado.

Onecrazydriver, an acquaintance who has a '93 twin turbo recommended Flatirons Acura to me, since I have a 2000 under warranty. I have been dealing with Bob there and Chris is the NSX specialist. So far I have had no complaints. If you guys find or know of another specialist let me know as well. BTW how did you enjoy your ride back? I picked mine up in San Francisco on Dec. 14th and drove back. WHAT A TRIP!!!! AVG. speed 98mph with co-pilot including gas stops and lunches. Peak speed 165 and never felt tiered. Look forward to meeting you guys and doing the rally. Tony

your not 2 far from FlatIron.. have your car service there instead/ going down here to Denver or Highland Ranch...any where close is good 4 me/and the service...

Thank you Auto Mag.
Onecrazydriver, I have had Chris Waylan from Flatirons work on my car for the past few years and I have never been more please with the quality of a mechanic's work. He really takes ownership on the NSX's that he works on and he has worked on quite a few that I know off. Before that, i did some work at Courtesy acura.. not too satisfied.

Here is a toll free number for Flatirons Acura (888) 257-9623. You can ask for him. I ususlly bypass the service people for technical stuff. Good luck
Vance

i haven't had my Timing Belt/Water Pump change yet/ should i be looking into it. it only got 20,800 k going to hit 21k this Summer/i don't even drive it that Much/ only on a beautiful Sunday..

It is recommended that you do the water pump ect.. when you do the timing belt. As for the mileage, there has been major debate on whether you chould change the timing belt on a low mileage car that has past the recommended life of 6yrs. If you are wondering about saving a few bucks by waiting, then you probably would not like to have to pay for an engine rebuild. I have heard belts that last up to 12 yrs (nsxbaby)WOW! and belts that break in 7 or 8 years. These belts do not show signs of wear; they just break. I had the same issue and I played it safe and changed it. Any regrets?. NONE! It was one huge load of my mind when I drive hard or drive at all.

Although, a couple of days ago, I saw the most beautiful NSX ever. It was a midnight pearl (bluish purplish) for sale at a local dealer. I had to stop and check it out. I will try to contact the person who buys it. Hopefully he is from Fort collins so I have a company up here.

Sounds good to me. I'll be picking mine up from detailing on Saturday, so I'll be totally stylin' and ready for the cameras

Whoops! Detailing will be a week from Saturday, because that's when they can install my tires. Tomorrow, I'll still be stylin', but seriously low on rear tread.

Don't know about the mix of colors though. I'd like to see a blue and a green in there

I think this wkd., for me anyhow, there well be to much sand and gravel as a result of snow these last few days. Next weekend may be a nicer one. I'm open sat. sun. 2/15-16 or any other time on nice weekend days pretty much anytime. Joec, I'm low on rear tires as well. Been putting in an attempt to package a deal for wheels and tires for a few of us on the forum. But no luck yet... wont stop me from cruising though. We could met in Westminster and go from there.

The junk on the road is one of the things that definately sucks about living in Denver. They put so much of sand down that it's almost like driving on a dirt road. Funny, I never really noticed it before I got my NSX.... T-REX isn't helping the situation any either. I usually only drive the NSX about once a month in the winter to keep things from drying out and cracking.

I'd still be up for a get together, I just don't know about a rally.

LrdVader I am up for that.... a get together would be a nice idea if a long road rally is not possible because of road debris. Anyone with some thoughts? Where, when, how and what?

I think we should wait til the spring when all the crap off the road is gone. I really hate the sound of rocks hitting my baby. I can literally feel her pain ^0^

I just scheduled a 60K service, timing belt, water pump, and valve adjustment at Flatirons Acura (Chris Wheyland?) for $2575 + Tax. After she's all tuned up, it'll be time to see what she can really do...

I feel the same way about the gravel and debris. When I've hit a stretch, I go around 20 mph, which is an extreme test of self control.

How about we have a get together, no rally planned. Meet somewhere on the North end of Denver, along 25. The major highways seem to be mostly clear of gravel, so everyone can slowly make it to their nearest onramp (25 or 36) and take highway to 25. North Denver (like Thornton) seems roughly centered for our group, although Fort Collins is furthest from it. I'm not really familiar with the area though, so I can't suggest a meeting spot. But it should be near an offramp or on a well traveled street (104th?) to avoid gravel.

For when, I'd like a sunny Saturday or Sunday. Per wunderground.com, weather looks bad for this Saturday, OK on Sunday, but Smoothaccel can't make it Sunday. How about the following weekend, Feb 22 & 23. We could plan on Saturday, and keep tuned to the weather. For time, how about 2:00?

To allow more timely contact, we could keep in touch by email. Everyone's email address is public except for LrdVader. LrdVader, would you private me your email address, if you don't mind sharing it with our group?
