When I went to the Ferrari plant to pick up my car they took me on a test ride with a Prova Driver. They are the factory test drivers and take every car on a test run in the city for 100 klms.
This is the job to have at Ferrari they dont wear a uniform, they wear blue jeans button down shirts and sun glasses.
Un like the rest of the workers who wear jump suits or lab coats.
The prova plate hangs on the back of the car so the police or polizie know that they are testing the car.
The prova plate allowed unlimited speed in Italian law.
The cars that Ferrari raced had the plate painted on the car.
Prova in Italian means trial or test I think.
