In case you didn't notice the entire world changed

I don't know about world changing, but that was one hell of a match.

It was good, wasn't it. Seriously though -- that championship, and the way it was played in terms of sportsmanship, was just unbelievable! Talk about two champions, two class acts. It was like witnessing the *next* Tiger Woods beat Tiger in a hard fought battle of David and Goliath. It was nothing short of spectacular -- all that is great about the human spirit and competition being played out in a record 4 1/2 hour match for the World's tennis trophy.

Maybe it's just tennis, in which case -- who cares? Or, maybe there's something greater here. A changing of the guard. Something spectacular.

Maybe now is the time for the next Federer to emerge on the global stage and do something great. Just maybe...

I felt bad for Federer, who would have thought? But maybe this will push him to that next ultra-level now that's he's had a reality check. But it certainly makes things much more unpredictable knowing that the guy really isn't unbeatable.

Even Nadel said he felt bad for him, but hey... Good for Nadel!!!

These guys will likely be like Tiger in the sense that they may bring a lot more interest to tennis and more viewers. I suck, but I love the game, and it's what I consider to be one of the few "real" sports... mano y mano. You only have yourself to look at, win or lose. No teammates or coaches to blame anything on.

Fantastic match, for sure. I couldn't believe some of the shots that were made, from both guys. Some of their recoveries and responses were, literally, unbelievable. I still thought Federer would win it since he was hitting more aces at the end and seemed to be able to "bring it" when it was really needed. Nadal hung in there and then somehow managed to squeeze out a win.

Can you imagine playing that long and maintaining your level of play? Talk about warriors...

If nothing else, it showed what tennis can be when you have the best playing the best. Far too often, it seems like the final matches are a beatdown more than anything as one of the players completely outplays the other. This match wasn't like that at all; it was hard fought and competitive from start to finish.

I normally can't stand watching tennis but that match was well worth the time.
