ha, I am screwing the gas and tax system (to some limited extent) as of yesterday. I had an LPG installation installed my daily driver (Lexus IS200).
I drive almost every day in Belgium and Holland where LPG is 1/3 the price of gasoline. Almost every gas station has an LPG pump. Why doesn’t everybody do this? Because when you have LPG installed in your car you have to pay 3 times the yearly road license tax. What a BS rip off.
But not me, my car is registered in Britain, where I officially live. There is no extra road tax for a LPG car there. Because there are also no gas stations that have LPG either (very few) so almost nobody uses LPG there.
Cost me €2000, I figure it will be paid off in 8 months of driving, less if the price keeps going up. Then I have fuel for ½ the price (turns out to be about ½ cuz I will get less miles than with gasoline)
Bastard tax department.
