I recently purchased my NSX, originally modified by Armando Colls, and among the modifications was a custom turbo system fabricated about 5 years ago (there are some well discussed threads about the turbo build and power results, 714hp). The turbo was in need of a rebuild, and I wanted to find a reliable, experienced person/company that would both understand the existing set-up and could give good advice for upgrades and improvements. I sent the car to a turbo specialist in California who is very talented, however the lack of communication and the resulting end product left me feeling disappointed and out 5 months of time.

I had my car back, and it was hardly drivable. I needed to find someone that was communicative, talented and NSX smart. This is how I found Cody at Lovefab. From my first interaction, I felt at ease. The questions he asked and the constant communication was just the beginning, so I decided to send my car to his shop.

He picked up my car in Minneapolis on August 17th, with an enclosed NSX friendly trailer (my car is very low and it can be a pain to load). Within a week, he was diagnosing the issues and making sound recommendations based on my needs and wants, and the capabilities of the engine. I found his approach to be very thoughtful and he continuously demonstrated his grasp at building reliable high-power turbo systems.

We decided to do the following:
Complete Lovefab exhaust including his new long tube headers
Complete Lovefab charge side from Intake to the throttle body
Precision 67mm ball bearing turbo
Lovefab Stage 4 Fuel system with dual Walbro pumps, lines, etc
Lovefab Stage 4 intercooler
AEM EMS configuration
Vehicle Speed-based boost control, which is very important to keep the tires planted

As Cody is removing the previous system, he is diligent in repairing and fixing the issues that continue to demonstrate his attention to detail.

6 weeks later the car is returned, tuned and dyno's out at 580 whp with 422 lbs of torque, on pump fuel at 16.5 psi boost with meth. Cody takes the time to carefully explain what he has done, things to watch for and projects for the future. But most importantly, I have my car back and it is unbelievably smooth, powerful, and reliable.

I strongly reccomend Cody for anyone considering any work on the NSX, especially high power systems.

You have a very nice car. I have always been impressed by Lovefab’s turbo system and if I didn’t live in California (smog) I would definitely have their system on my car.

Do you feel any lag at all, is your motor built, and what is your compression? Congrats on the power that this car deserves.

I don't notice a lag, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. When I get into the throttle, it comes on so fast, I can't distinguish a lag yet.

The motor was built by Armando for a high boost application, low compression pistons, larger throttle body, 750cc injectors, etc.

I remember driving next to that car at NSXPO in Orlando. Looked insane and was wicked quick! I think he picked up Shigeru Uehara from the airport in it:wink:

Congrats on your set-up! Cody is the man. He hooked me up on a stage 2 LoveFab Turbo System. By far the best Turbo kit available for the NSX.
On a Dyno jet, you should be right at 600 rwhp.

Thanks for the compliments, it is still a work in process!

I don't have too many pictures, and I also think Cody has some of his fabrication techniques that he wants to keep out of the public. I would definitely ping him. I used to build drag cars and street rods, and his work is top notch, and very clever.

I have been talking to Cody and I'm waiting on photos - he says he will email some when he loads up a car for NSXPO. I've actually been interesting in seeing photos for over a month now.

Of course, before I commit to spending roughly $10,000 and taking my car from the Washington DC area to Michigan, I want to see photos of the final product, which I'm sure are totally understood.

So Armandos car is in MN now eh? Congrats on the car, his car is definitely fast.

He's on to boats now just like a few others here on Prime.

What photos are you looking for?

It was great working with you Patrick!

Fyi, 3.5lnsxr's car made 555whp on another Turner's Dyno. He then made 476whp on the same Dyno that Patrick's car made 580whp. After installing our headers, 3.5lnsxr made 492whp.

It goes to show you that not all dynos are created equal and that Patrick's car is a monster!

did 3.5lnsxr get your headers for the supercharged car or the turbo'd car? i thought it was his supercharged car that had the 3.5?
