I decided to buy my NSX when I got my first job. It was a '92 with only 12'000 miles and payed it around 35'000 $ via a leasing.

As I cannot help myself upgrading my cars, with the time, I went with the following modifications while it was my week-end car :

- FN01R-C 5 Zigen Wheels, 17 x 8 ET40 front, 17 x 9 ET45 rear
- Tein Flex coilovers

Here is a pic next to my ex Civic Type R which was my daily car but which I sold end of 2005 because I decided to go to work by train.

Performance wise, I went with :
- Intake scoop + UNI filter
- DC Sport headers
- Taitec testpipes
- Comptech exhaust

002.jpg

As I began to do some trackdays with the car, I went with these modifications :

- brake pads (Delphi Type Zr and then Carbotech AX06)
- brake lines
- brake air deflectors
- Sparco 4 points harnesses, first with stock seats, then with...
- Sparco Corsa buckets

Going to the track without cats, I burnt the whool in the Comptech. The exhaust became extremly loud and I decided to put the cats back and get a Gt-One N1 exhaust.

With the cats on, I dynoed the car at 300.3 bhp.

After 3 years on the street, I decided to use my NSX as track only car because of :
- insurances price vs trackday price
- fun at the track vs showing off on the street
- impossible to use the potential of the chassis on the street

Summer 08

The conversion to a track only car began and is still going on. This is what I have already done :

- weight saving : headlights, bumper beams, wipers, clima, blower, ventilation, all plastics and carpets, airbags, steering wheel,...
- testpipes back on
- Dali track sways
- Carbotech XP10 pads
- Cquence slotted rotors
- Type R rear wing
- 240/610/17, 260/640/17 A005 slick tires
- home made polycarbonate side windows

And for the future I plan :
- front camber kit to go to -3° camber
- rollcage (when I win the lottery)
- some carbon parts

Now the car has 45'000 miles.

Fiability wise, for the time, I had the following problem in spring 09 :

- the lower front radiator hose blew up at the track. I plan to change all my hoses next winter.
- the attach of one of the springs of a clutch disc broke. I changes the 2 discs and the release bearing by myself (4 days of work... but I am not mechanic at all)

And lately :
- i got some missfires at the track. This was a blown spark plug. I replaced the 6 as they seemed all pretty worn.

Post more pics of that under tray please. Also some close ups of the poly windows and more inside of the cage and dash layout. The car is looking awesome.

Thanks for the comments.

The "home-made" windows. Not easy to bend but the result is not too bad for a track use. Will perhaps have 2 news made by a professional later.

Been following you. Great job. Fantastic. Keep up the good work. I am deciding if I should do this too. It might be the time, after finding out some minor maintenance results. Not necessary, and maybe just go all the way. oil pan gasket replace? why not the cover? lets upgrade the lines too, why not? maybe upgraded suspension too while I'm at it, maybe upgraded brakes too while I'm at it.

Finally did the Stoptech. But with 8mm spacers needed on my 8''x17'' ET=40 wheels I hope it will not rub. Else I will have to get new wheels.

This is such a fun car to own, daily, leisure or track. Enjoy.

Some news...

The 5-Zigen did not pass under the front fenders with the 8mm spacers needed to clear the calipers. I had to buy new wheels.
