At the same time it's 2013 making this car at least 10 years old. Some stuff can go bad.. But as a result of aftermarket additions. Man I'm hoping it is a battery issue but I think even if it is something else the cost to fix shouldn't be too bad.... Hopefully

Wow that is amazing if its the original OEM Honda battery from '02. Mine didn't make it as long, replaced my original back in '09 with an Optima Blue top (AGM) never looked back. I don't remove it from the car during winter months in storage makes a real PITA with the intercooler pump and piping in the way. But I do have my Challenger trickle charger on it since Oct '12.
If we said your 10yr old lead acid battery were to be say fully charged after sitting for 4~5months with no trickle would be near 30%. In a discharged state positive/negative plates in the battery become sulphated, and the electrolyte loses much of its dissolved sulphuric acid and becomes primarily water which sometime starts gassing which can be an explosive situation. So she is pretty much done after that time for a new battery lol
You figure it would have failed when they recharged and tested it as you mentioned before. Lets hope its the battery and not the later...
I'm sorry I haven't been able to do much updating with respect to the car. Been having really late nights and just tired. I actually had the car towed earlier today via flat bed to Speed Star (an excellent shop) close to my house that does most of the work with my car. Been with these guys a long time and they offered to do the diagnosis for free which is why I was sold. They even sent one of their guys to towe the car. Turbo and nsxcessive you've really given me a lot of insight and I appreciate it
Hey guys wanted to keep you updated: so they found the battery output was a little on the low side and felt that the connecting terminals on the cable had too much corrosion. They swapped the battery and cleaned the terminals. It seems to have gotten rid of the popping sound and other mentioned symptoms. Hopefully the problem is resolved. If anything returns then they'll go to the next step.
