What exactly is the installation procedure for the lexan hatch? I might be interested, but I'd really like is to be able to switch back to the glass hatch relatively easily.

It says this lexan hatch re-uses the OEM window molding. What is involved in that process, and what would the price be to simply buy the OEM parts instead of disassembling the OEM rear hatch?

Hi Lud --

The frame is the steel support that is glued to the factory glass. It can be removed with a heat gun and plastic/nylon pry-bars.

New OEM parts are only available separately in Japan, as the unit is sold as a whole here in the states. I hope to have more info on this in the near future.

Hi David --

The same type of sealant that is used on the windshields can be used on the hatch. More info to follow.

Cheers,
