The NSX Club is planning a Fall Cruise. We will be re using the Route that we ran in 2005 Forks of the Credit. The feedback we received, is that, this was one of the best Cruise that we had so far.

The Fall colours should be spectacular in this area in October.
Start: Legendary Motorcar Company (LMC)
8242 Fifth Line, Halton Hills (905-875-4700)
Date: October 18th
Meet Time 10:30 - 10:45-AM AM
Leaving 11:15 - 11:30 AM

The cruise in through Orangeville, Caledon and Hockely Valley, with lunch @ Mandarin Restaurant (410 + Steeles)
(905) 451-2222

Please sign-up here, as I need to know numbers for the Restaurant reservations.

I'm in. No making fun of the guy in the Beetle ok?

Jill and I would love to come but we are not sure at this point if will be able to make it. October is a hectic month for us with the arrival of our first grandchild and several other family and domestic happenings. I had planned on putting my car into storage at the end of September (it hasn't sold yet) because there will so little time to drive it in October. I will see what we can do. Maybe we can shift a couple of things around in order to free up the day.

If you guys are planning to do the same road as last time, I heard it is beat up a bit. I drove it once in the early summer and there were quite a few loose gravel patches where there used to be nice pavement. I live near Orillia and will come along for sure. May get a chance to drive it beforehand and will let you know the latest as to its condition. Seems last winter really beat it up.

Thanks for the heads up Coiler. Yeah we were planning on doing the same route. If you can do a quick pre-run that would be awesome.

SuperSteve: It's far but TOTALLY worth it. Probably one of the most enjoyable sections of road in southern Ontario!

I'm in of course, as long as I'm in town.

I'll try to get out this weekend, tough job but someone has to do it!
My in laws live at the top end so I may have to get up for a visit:biggrin:
A buddy drove it on a bike a few weeks ago and he said it was still a bit rough.
If its in decent shape its definitely well worth the drive!
Best road I have been on in Ont.

Lucas- as long as I can make it out for this and you can get yourself closer to the route than Hamilton, Ive got a seat for you. Should know well in advance if I can make it.

ROAD REPORT:

Well you had better have a PLAN B
Road is Fugly!
I took out the NSX and it has never seen so much gravel. The lower section has a 1.5 km section of pure gravel and its just the right size to get stuck in your treads and flung about. So I figure I'll carry on to the Northern part and all is good for a while till you get a bit in and then there's a 3.5km section of similar type gravel which is torturous even at 15 km/h and when a truck etc passes you, its a dust storm. Upper section is brilliant and almost let me forget the painful first parts. Then anything N of the RR tracks is all some weird kind of packed gravel which has a black compound on it to somewhat make it look like a road.
I did see a few pieces of paving machinery parked here and there so it looks like someday it'll be good to go but doubt if it will be this year.
Wouldn't even consider coming back on it so I took the highway home. Next brilliant move is to take a scenic route on the E shore of Couchiching which goes by Casino Rama. Needless to say, first unpaved section was more suited to a rock climber than a sports car and after that its so rough ( paved though) that I actually started to get a headache. From the Casino down it was fine and I figured better not try out my luck at the casino as it seemed the outcome no way was going to be favorable on this day.
Oh well someone had to do it!

There are a few other small sections but farther North and not really worth the drive. Its a ton of highway driving to get to a few turns. Nothing I have found compares to the original plan but guess we'll have to wait till next year to see if it gets fixed up.
