I am putting together a planning committee to submit a bid to hold NSXPO 2007 in Ohio, site of NSXPO '98. We hope to have the drivers school at Mid-Ohio, and include tours of Honda's assembly plants and facilities among the social activities.

Assuming the timing is the same as in recent years, the board of directors of the NSX Club of America will be soliciting written bid proposals for NSXPO 2007 in late 2005, and select a site in early 2006. The committee which submits the bid is expected to do the planning and organizing work on the event if and when the bid is awarded by the club's board.

We are looking for volunteers for the planning committee who want to be part of this team effort, who are willing to make a commitment on behalf of the event, and to have FUN! together while making all the plans for what we hope to make the best NSXPO ever. Some of the activities require a local presence to visit event sites etc, but others do not, and Ohio residency is not required to help with the event. If anyone is interested in participating on the committee, please send me a PM or an e-mail to let me know of your interest. If you have relevant experience in event planning or any specific area, please make a note to that effect.

What about 2006? The Midwest has been shutout for quite some time. CA then NY now AZ.

Do you have any idea where 06 might be?

Ken, you know that I am in and willing to help on this one. It is about time I started to carry some responsibility for this club anyhow. This would be the perfect opportunity for me to lend a hand.

As you know, we have PLENTY of 4 and 5 star resturaunts (I believe highest per capita in US), European indoor cart racing, outdoor cart racing, access to the Embassy Suites (direct access to Dublin's best as well as direct drive to Honda Parkway). We could look at visiting the Arena District for group night time activities, or even schedule a shopping spree at Les Wexner's (owner of Express, Limited, Victoria Secret, etc.) famous Eastland Town Shopping Center. And yes, it is the size of a large town.

The list goes on and on here. Possible quibles include the relatively flat land and the possibility of a really chilly NSXPO if we stick with the current dates.

The location for NSXPO 2006 hasn't been announced (unless it's in the new NSX Driver newsletter that I haven't yet received). However, I can tell you that it will be in a region that has gone longer since its last NSXPO than the Midwest, which hosted NSXPO 2001.

Thanks, Josh!

I'm sure we can put together a fun and exciting program of activities. Right now, the discussions are just beginning, so the committee members will be considering anything anyone would like to suggest.

Ummm... I seem to recall an incredible country drive through the Hocking Hills area during NSXPO '98. :D

That's highly unlikely. For example, the normal high in Columbus on October 8 is 67 degrees F, and the normal low is 45. And the foliage season should be at its peak. I can't think of a better time of year.

That being said, we will be limited by whatever date(s) we are offered to rent the racetrack. So we can't really pick our date until we find that out first.

ok, so where do you think it will be, southeast, northwest, that's the only other 2 options I see open. Other thoughts?

NSXPO 2003 was held in the Northwest Region.

Kind of narrows it down, doesn't it? :D

NSXPO question.

ok, I don't have an NSX. I do graduate spring 07' probably but doubt I'll be able to afford a 91ish by then jus because of student loans which will probably equal that of a new NSX. lol.

are non-owners allowed to stop by at events just to check out the cars and hang out? or is it owners only? just curious cuz i don't know a whole lot about the NSXPO stuff :D

At the last several NSXPOs, members of the NSX Club of America have been welcome as spectators at the track event without having to register for NSXPO. You do not have to own an NSX to join the NSX Club of America.

I am guessing Barber for 06

Ken I will definately help out as much as I can for Mid Ohio. I drive through there quite often for work. (will be there in 2 weeks  )

Since I am not near the track, maybe my help will be better suited for once the event is taking place. (handing out packets, signing people in etc etc) I will be able to supply tires (including Toyo) for the reg drive failures, and track event.

Let me know.

Ken,
I'm sure I will be going also let me know what kind of help you need.

Mid Ohio = I'm there!

Ken, I will also help any way I can.

Thanks for the offers to help! I've invited all of the volunteers to join the e-mail list (on Yahoo groups) for the planning committee.

Hey Ken since when did you join the blue man group?
Several of us have gotten avatars from the "Mr. Men" series, courtesy of NeoNSX. Send him a PM if you'd like your own!

I know I am not in your region but I would be glad to help, I would love to see 2007 at Mid-ohio.
Is the 2006 event location supposed to be a secret?
I was told where it is going to be, but now I wonder why it isnt known by everyone.

We like to make the entire club membership aware of it at the same time. An announcement will be included in the NSX Driver newsletter to be mailed within the next month or so. But those who can read between the lines may have already figured out its location. ;)

Nice Ken.

I'd like to lend a hand and get to meet some NSX owners.
