Opinions on 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor

I'm looking at a 2005 C230 Kompressor with 40 K miles.
A one owner car.

Anyone have any comments on this series of C Class?

Since you already own an NSX you'll be used to this, but they go through rear tires at an alarming rate.

The manual transmission is surprisingly engaging to drive.

Heated seats were never an option on them

I would avoid buying one of those, Mercedes is terrible at making a good 4 cylinder.

We had an SLK with that engine. 11 years, no problems.

Is this the coupe version or the four door? My parents had a matching pair of the coupe, one 6spd and one auto. They both had their fair share of problems (luckily covered under warranty) but never broke down on them. I got to drive them fairly often, almost daily. I wouldn't consider them Mercedes quality as the entire car just didn't feel quality, from interior to exterior.

While they were at Mercedes getting fixed, I got a chance to drive the four door rentals which proved to be an even worse experience. Pretty boring, underpowered vehicles I'd say.
