Like? Dislike? Could this be a preview of the new Accord?

Until I see a Dragon Edition, they arent serious about China

Could this be a preview of the new Accord?
Likely to be the 9th gen. North America (USDM) Accord, also the JDM Inspire (Japan & Asia-Pac)...

current 8th gen. USDM Accord sedan:

Concept-C:

The forthcoming Accord coupe concept ('13 model) was unveiled already in Detroit, which had a lot of front-fascia commonality w/ the Concept-C while maintaining overall shape/proportion of the current model (as it seems to be true w/ the Concept-C & current Accord sedan). Also, the redesigned RL, now RLX, showcased key design/style elements of the Concept-C as well.

All-in-all, nice looking "economy" sedan. And much needed for Honda, as that market segment has all of a sudden gotten fierce (redesigned populist leading Camry, stylish Sonata, "affordable" Passat, ever-improving Altima, forthcoming Euro-inspired Fusion, etc).

Looks like it adopted the Acura beak...

My god they are really enamored of these stupid front grill beaks.

The front end lines are overwrought and exaggerated. At one time Honda made nice understated and elegant designs that didn't have to rely on gee-gaws and goofy bric-a-brac.

It's OK... I'm finally coming to terms that Honda doesn't really offer ANYTHING of interest to me at the moment.

I'm looking forward to my new BRZ.

PS: The new Mazda 6 is much more attractive.

And if I really wanted a 4 door sedan type vehicle - I'd probably go for the new Cadillac ATS. I'm guessing the standard 4 cyl model wouldn't be that much more than a loaded Honda Accord. It's certainly much nicer looking.

Honda is trying to respond to the sonata and optima styling. But by the time this hits production it'll just be weird instead of aggressive or pretty. They will keep the beak and the weird grille and it'll sit higher, have smaller wheels, the lower vents will go away and the headlamps will grow to standard size ones.

I think it's ugly, but I bet Hyundai still copies them.

Hyundai is way ahead of Honda in terms of styling. It's Honda trying to respond to Hyundai now. The current sonata and definitely the Kia optima look better than the current accord and this concept... Why would Hyundai "copy" Honda?

The key word is "has". The hunted has now become the hunter.

Exactly... Hyundai would be taking a big step backwards copying any Honda's styling. They have no desire to do that. Look at the side lines on this car, the extended tail lamps, this is very sonata-esque. Look at the interior of a sonata or optima and look at an accord. Honda is trying to chase it is not being chased. Perhaps in driving dynamics but definitely not in styling. Honda is in a reactionary mode now. I don't see anything great about this concept. It's better but by production time it will be some ugly watered-down beaky thing.

lol, to my eye it looks like a hyundai with a bodykit:frown:

PHOEN$X

You know exactly how I feel about Honda now.

The front is definitely a step in the right direction. Make the 4-cyl to keep the masses happy. Make a Type R version with RWD,V6TT, and 6spd.

Honda right now is so bland and boring compared to the competition.

Honda's future is totally ruined by these ass-clown executive designers who are so full of themselves. Of note is this Dave Merek who just could not see how ugly his cars are.
