Pikes Peak Pace Car

The car was supposed to be running at Goodwood last year too. They are probably setting up all the cameras so they can send the flatbed out quickly to retrieve it before it goes up in flames.

Nice.
It would be nicer to know the final weight, power, torque etc. or even when the car will go on sale :/

JonBoy on the S2ki forums says..

Dealers will start taking orders in September for January 2016 delivery. Dealer mechanics have already been trained, apparently, and showrooms are being upgraded very shortly.

I don't know where he got that information but I'll do some digging. I guess there's not much room for error there when it's almost 2016 already. :p

Did anyone go to the media day VIP reception yesterday? Car was supposed to be on display, as well as this evening from 5 to 10 pm at the Fanfest in downtown Colorado Springs according to the article.

I guess the rear window defroster is a legal requirement, but don't see how it could be all that useful. The engine heat would defrost the window just as well as the defrosting element. I certainly never used it for all the time I had my NSX. Would be nice if we could delete that.

Also it looks like they blended the front grille mesh with the front beak/lip so it softens the beak and makes it one piece. I like this treatment the best so far instead of the chrome strip and the strip is body color matched. I think they are listening...

Thanks for pointing this out, I couldn't quite see why it looked better.

At the beginning of the video Sage states the car is a development prototype and this car is probably a "wrap" that also includes the beak. Don't think that means that Honda is necessarily planning on toning it down based on feedback from customers. Regardless, it would be an easy and inexpensive fix.

Will there be an actual video? From the press release it sounded like that stupid 360 view is all we get?

exactly, no mention of an actual video of the climb. just the 24 cameras surrounding one point turned into that 360 degree "video" which they posted to twitter:

I know the car in the video is a development prototype...and this has been discussed before...BUT, can we please have the final car without keyhole in the door? It looks ridiculous.

that's a start....
