Potential Electrical Problem

When I took out the spare wheel to charge the car's battery I noticed that it was rubbing against a set of wires and had already worn thru the factory covering. I fixed the problem with a rubber innertube type of material covered with electrical tape so I'll see how that holds up. I just wanted to let everyone know about the potential problem. Has anyone else had this happen?

I would not worry about it as I see from your pictures the insulation on the wires are not damaged and the original covering you see there is just electrical tape and you could have just replaced that and you would have been fine.

Looks like the harness slid down and twisted 180. Twist it back and reinstall the white retaining clip in the hole seen in the background and all should be fine.
