Hey guys,

According to an article in autoexpress the production version of the NSX will debut at the detroit auto show.

Although not really anything new has been said it does give us confirmation that they have plans to really make this.

Hmm be interesting to see how different it will be. Hopefully it will have headlights:biggrin:

New Acura NSX Coming to Detroit Auto Show

Back in Detroit last year, Acura revealed a concept version of the reborn NSX supercar. During that Detroit show, Acura said a revived NSX would come to showrooms within 3 years.

It looks like we'll get to see the production version a bit sooner than that.

According to Auto Express, a Honda executive at the Sao Paulo Motor Show has confirmed the production version of the new Acura NSX will make its world debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January.

The Honda executive also revealed the styling of the production NSX will be nearly identical to that of the concept car.

While powertrain details have yet to be released, it's expected the new NSX will be a hybrid, with a direct-injected V-6 paired to a version of Acura's all-wheel-drive system. A dual-clutch transmission will send power to all 4 wheels with torque vectoring also factored in.

While no formal announcement has been made, a Honda executive has commented that the new NSX will be entered in some form of GT racing, potentially as early as 2014.

The new NSX is being engineered and will be built here in the U.S. The work is being handled by Honda's R&D Americas at a plant in central Ohio.

For more details on Acura's latest NSX, be sure to stay tuned for our Detroit Auto Show coverage. You can also read about the concept NSX, and check out the live gallery of photos here.

It will have those headlights. They just put LED headlights on the 2013 honda Accord touring so ill assume theyll put it on their flagship. Cant wait to get some real powertrain details tho!

A top exec for Honda Brazil told us at the Sao Paulo Motor Show, that the ‘real’ NSX will be shown in Detroit after the show car has finished its duties here in Sao Paulo and then at the Tokyo show in November. Our source also revealed that the styling will remain ‘identical’ to the model you can see here on the show stand.

"The Tokyo show in November"

Is there Tokyo Auto Show in November this year? or the reporter meant that it will be on 2013 Nov? Because it is state that after the Sao Paulo and then the Tokyo Auto Show.

So if this is true, isn't it going to be on 2014 January Detroit auto show? not 2013?

UPDATE: After speaking with a Honda representative, AutoGuide can now report that the NSX will not, in fact, be unveiled at Detroit. In fact, Acura has yet to announce the plant it will use to build its next hybrid sports car. “I think what we said in January in 2012 at the Detroit Auto Show is still accurate,” Honda spokesman Ed Miller said. “We gave ourselves three years to bring out the car and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Guys,

There is an update from AutoGuide (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/page/3)

It is still goin to be 3 years
