question about oem keyless...

I have a 2003 with keyless. The remote is a flat almost square remote. It looks like an older remote (not modern). I had a 2004 previously and the remote was gray with an oval like shape and red panic button (much nicer looking). anyway, is the remote i have for the 03 the correct one? also shouldn't the tail lights flash when i operate the keyless like they did on my 04? thanks for any info...Scott

fwiw the lights don't flash with the keyless entry on my 95, and it's a square piece with a big round button and a smaller round button
