Recall for firmware update

Just got the notice.

I bet they had to do this just for Calif. (checksum).

The firmware has to be updated or the car won't pass smog.

I also recently received this notice. It suggested that without the upgrade that hand held devices would no communicate properly with the on board computers. How did you determine it is smog related?

When the notice says that the car may not pass smog inspection without it.

First paragraph.

Fourth paragraph is for Calif only.

You won't pass without it.

I also received this in the mail

My car passed IL smog in 2021 with no issues

I will get this done when I bring the car in for the Summer wheels and tires swap in May

The notice I received, says "On your 2017 or 2018 NSX".

Mine passed smog in 10/2021, no issues. I’ll get it done during my next oil change visit.

Got an appointment for first thing tomorrow morning.

Service manager says it should take less than an hour.

So far the car has been in recalls for:

1. Audio software update (duck soup)

2. Gas tank crossover (they gave me pics of the car apart)

3. This smog crap



Also in for:

1. Dash rattles (installed dash padding) I still get a noise once in a while.

2. Wind noise left door (replaced door seal which came in a BIG box!)

None of these things have affected how I feel about the car, although I do wish I could update to current improvements.
