Hello All,

Is is necessary to remove the whole headlamp
assembly to replace the headlight bulb.
I tried last night to follow the owners manual in replacing the bulb and was
unsuccessful. There was enough room
to remove the connector from the bulb
assembly.

Robert,

it is not necessary to remove the headlight assembly. I just did it recently. You might have to get someone with small hands to help you out or just cut the hell out of your own like I did. You need to do a fair amount of pulling and stretching of the harness and connectors to wrestle them out. Pain in the ass. I changed my low beams and decided it wasn't worth the pain to change the high beams!

Thanks... did you remove the headlight garnish or just reached back into the
crevice with your hands to disconnect
everything? The manual says to push down
on the 2-P connecter but there is a
another set of wires running directly
below it... did you pull the 2-P
connector back? Not sure if there
is enough slack to do this?

Thanks,
Robert

although it's not required, I think in the long run it ends up being less hassle.

1. remove two outer plastic caps per side
2. unscrew 4 phillips screw per side, make sure to keep the plastic gaskets together
3. lift up garnish
4. unbolt 4 10mm per side

You can leave everything connected, but this makes getting to everything a whole lot easier, especially if you don't have small Japanese hands ;-)
