San Diego Repair Shop

On the other hand, I have been to several Acura dealers with so-called "NSX certified technicians", and they know LESS about the car and how to work on it that _I_ do, and I am not a mechanic/technician at all.

Mark Basch is good, his work speaks for itself. Larry is also good, same goes for his work. (i.e. their satisfied customers) I am also good at changing brake pads, installing exhausts, straight pipes, aftermarket brake kits, and other such things, and so are many others in the NSXCA, and I doubt even an Acura certified NSX technician will dare say that our work is inferior to their own when it comes to procedures and things that we as a collective know how to do, based on experience. You know, an "Acura certified" technician learns hand-on from following the factory manual. If you are mechanically inclined and can read at the 8th grade level, you can work on the NSX.

Further, do you request that a "Honda Civic certified technician" work on your Civic? The NSX is just a fancy schmancy Honda. The engine is in the middle, it has nice suspension parts, cool engine technology, and pretty body work...other than that, it's a Honda and can be worked on just like another Honda.
