nikei,

Thanks for the comments. I love the car.

Drill bits are not allowed within 50 feet of any of my cars.

I used the license plate holder designed especially for the NSX by Honda with the appropriate screws in the designated locations. I'm hoping to get my NSX1.COM license plates from the DMV soon. I ordered them 6 weeks ago.

Congrats on the purchase...I'm pretty sure I know exactly how you feel about it. And I'm sure you've seen my comments about how much I love Spa Yellow...enjoy!

Mine already had the holder from the dealership and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't contemplate removing it.

Akira,

For us California purchasers, I believe it's a requirement that the dealer deliver a front license plate holder... since the front license plate is required by state law. I bought my 2000 NSX used... it was just 2 months old with 2,500 miles. It did not come with the front plate holder, so I bought one (at $80, whew!). I guess I don't feel too bad about having it on the car... I'm validating it as a good place to hang my NSX1.COM personalized license plate.

I had a Porsche a few years back and as soon as I took the front plate off, I started getting pulled over and given "fix-it" tickets. I don't need that hassle anymore... but then again, it might have something to do with the fact that I believe we should be good citizens and abide by the laws... and change them through the legal process if we don't like them. God, am I getting old or what?

By the way, I think you know where Simi Valley is... and I think you live just South of me.

The whole law thing is what keeps me from removing the plate. I certainly have no desire to invite police officers over to my car.

It just sucks having my NSX around front-plate-less NSXs and Ferraris.

Yeah, I know somewhat where you are...north end of the Valley, right? Don't know any other NSXers up your way...but know quite a few on L.A.'s Westside and in Orange County. Did you get yours from Valencia? I think I recall one of the dealers advertising a '00 yellow NSX with chromed rims in the L.A. Times.

Nah...I just remember seeing it advertised from Acura in Valencia and recall wondering to myself why the dealer would have chromed the rims. It wasn't all that long ago that it was advertised (probably June or July), so whoever owned it before you didn't have it very long.

Ever since I first started seriously looking at purchasing an NSX in 1997, I saw quite a few brand new NSX's in dealer's showrooms with chromed wheels. I found it was a somewhat common dealer added option at $1600. Perhaps it was just the few Acura dealerships that I frequented around the San Fernando Valley and Ventura.
