Yes.
With stock sizes, the rear tire diameter is larger than the front, by like 8%. TCS can accommodate small changes in that ratio, but your 215/40-16 rear would be almost 10% smaller than the stock 225/50-16 rear, which is enough of a difference to actually make the rear diameter SMALLER than the front diameter. TCS won't work with such a large ratio change.
