Well, I guess it was bit much. But consider that Microsoft will once again copy Apple, and the iCloud of 2011 will be the winCloud of 2013. So yeah, in Apple will most likely set the standard.

It seems to be an oversight on Android's part. If you google, there are ways to get around this limitation. It'll probably be natively supported once enough people complain about it...
