What is the best way to pop out Acura wheel centers w/out damaging

What is the best way to pop out Acura wheel centers w/out damaging them or scratching them? I know this is probobly really simple, but, the ones I have are not scratched or discolored in any way and I would hate to damage any of them by doing it incorrectly, Thanks

take the wheel off the car.
punch it out from the inside of the wheel with a screwdriver handle.

Better to use the end of a wooden hammer.
