Question from the ignorant (Mark Johnson knows what I'm talking about -
silly DIYers):
What is the purpose for mag lug nuts?
I installed the Tarox kit (just finished) as well as longer studs. The studs
are too long for the stock lug nuts, so I purchased aftermarket 'open end'
lug nuts for when I have to use the stock 16/17 wheels. The Tarox brakes
BARELY fit the stock wheels. Looks like about 1 MM - 1.5 MM of clearance.
I have my tecnomagnesio wheels as well that use 'mag' lug nuts. I'm curious
why they use these. While the nuts APPEAR to fit the studs, it is VERY
close. I'm considering looking for 'open end' mag lug nuts, if I have to use
mag lug nuts with the tecnos.
A big kudos to Mark Basch and Jane Basch for their support with me
installing the kit. Car's going into Acura next week to have it looked
through, and the strange rocking noise I'm hearing from the tranny before my
road/track trip.
Cheers,
-- Chris
