whats your take on this transmission oil?

I have searched, so don't start flaming me. I had wrote a while back i though it was my slightly leaky master cylinder causing the notchyness but it wasn't really that. When it is hot it usually shifts great, not so great in the cold. I have read that everyone said the gm syncromesh did wonders but it also lessened the life of your transmission. I have also read other people mix the great "white cap" honda mtf with amsoil syncromesh and have had great results. I dont want to use it if it is bad, but will try anything for a smoother shift if it wont wear out the transmission. With that said, what is your guys take on this from the amsoil site.

Applications include manual transmissions and transaxles such as New Venture NV T350, NV 1500, NV 2550, NV 3500, NV 3550, NV 5600, and Tremec T4, T5, T18, T56, T176, TKO500, TKO600, TR 3450 and TR 3550. Replaces MTF-94 fluid for Land Rover, MG, and Mini Cooper. Replaces Honda Genuine MTF fluid for manual transaxles and Texaco MTX fluid. Not for use in engines, hypoid rear axles, limited-slip or wet clutch applications.

I wanted to see because I know we have a lsd, but amsoil mtf syncromesh says not for use in limited slip, yet says it is used as a replacement for honda genuine mtf?? What do you guys think. I just want a smooth shift when its cold and hot. Im getting tired of having to try to time a shift for smoothness so thought I would try the 2:1 honda white cap and amsoil syncromesh but wanted some better oppinions as I am not a transmission fluid expert. It did shift smooth when i bought it, then I figured change out the fluid because it needed a change i assumed. I put redline in it and made it suck bad, then back to honda mtf but it still doesnt feel like it use to. Thanks guys.

What did you end up using? I'm going to change my tranny fluid this weekend and want to hear some opinions. I've heard a few times stay away from Redline in Acura transmissions.
 
I ended up not putting it in. Called three nsx specialist shops. All said only use the honda stuff unless your car is grinding then possibly the syncromesh stuff. I took my car to get it looked at but I guess its just my style of shifting that cuases it to be rough imo. Nothing wrong with the tranny so I didn't touch it and sent the stuff back.

Nonsense. I tried Redline MTL in my NSX and it worked fine. However, I didn't notice any advantages to it, either, so I've gone back to Honda fluid since then.

redline in mine is what made it feel like crap to begin with. I personally don't recommend it in the NSX. In my rx7, it was amazing, but not the NSX
 
It's hard to get mad at you when you leverage the hotness of your GF's curves and height.

Simple a mind-messer.

I run 100% Amsoil Syncromesh and the NSX runs fine. The differential doesn't act any different, but it still sucks compared to the Dana (GTO), Torsen (FD) and OS Giken that they make for the NSX.
 
Well, I just replaced my GM synchromesh fluid with 3qts of the Amsoil synchromesh MTF (even though it says not for use in LSDs as posted previously).

My transmission is 120k miles old, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd synchros replaced about 5 years ago when the snap ring fix was done. The transmission has worked fine, it was just time for a flush and to try something new.

Oh well, if it destroys the LSD and synchros, then it's time for a 6-speed!

I'll post back once it's on the road again with a few miles.

this is true lol. I never put it in the car in the end. called Ramon and ppls at autowave and they only recomend honda mtf, so thats what I went with. When I was at a friends in LB I stopped by autowave. They drove it and said it was fine and that the 6 speed was more notchy than the 5 speed because the gears were closer. i also think my extreme height causes me to shift differently than the average person who pushes the top of the clutch and shifts the lever differently cause My RX7, 350Z and the nsx all notch, so I think it is just me. Plus yes, notch or not i still get to make it to the beach to show off the GF curves and height lol.

Then u haven't tried the silkiness of Amsoil Syncromesh.

I've had MTL and MT-90 in the NSX and it was notchy. Maybe I'm picky.

But when I started to read about the raving reviews that the GTO guys (or anyone running the same tranny like vettes) about Amsoil Syncromesh I decided to try it and haven't looked back since........
