    ouch 120mph in a 65!!!

Just to clarify, a breathalyzer above .08 creates a presumption of being under the influence, meaning the prosecution has very little to do, if anything, to prove the individual was driving under the influence. Now on the other hand, if you blow less than .08, the prosecution can still...

    Discount Brokerage Firm Recomendations

Prime, I'm looking for some advice or recommendation on selecting a discount brokerage firm to manage a small investment. In the past, I have used full service brokerage firms, Merrill Lynch to be exact, and have experienced nothing but lackluster performance at best, in addition to the...

Shop in Houston holding my NSX hostage

Before you start labeling everyone who questions your situation as being disabled, take a moment to understand what is being asked? For instance, whether the shop is currently performing/not performing the work on your vehicle, which is clearly NOT listed in your OP. On another note, as the...

Shop in Houston holding my NSX hostage

Forgive my ignorance, but weren't you the one asking for help? I sorta assumed it was common sense and courtesy to provide the needed details when asking for help.

Can you get a speeding ticket even if you are not in your car?

Your absolutely right about custodial interrogation applying in situations outside of the interview room. But from my experience, its usually a high standard to meet, ie. officer's gun drawn, several officers surrounding suspect, etc....but I see your point. The question is, is it reasonable...

Can you get a speeding ticket even if you are not in your car?

Great overall write up Honcho.....I'm an attorney as well, but in California. I would just like to clarify on Honcho's analysis. Unfortunately, your right to counsel under the Sixth Amendment ONLY attaches in criminal proceedings, and not civil. Why is this important? Most traffic tickets...

    Never give Visa Giftcards

From my experiences, the easiest way to use these types of gift cards is to use them at gas stations for set amounts (i.e. exactly $40) and then write down how much you have left on the card. Otherwise, you start running into the problems the OP mentioned.

    Relationships/Love/Life

+1 I completely agree with Mike San's post regarding premature marriage and the advice NOT to do anything else. As hard as it sounds, ignore her, and your chances with her will increase. But keep in mind, this ocean is filled with fish. Happy fishing!

    Need some Professional/Legal advise!

I completely disagree. Termination is an option, but it may or may not be the best solution based on your individual situation. As I stated earlier, speak with an attorney dealing specifically in employment law. Taking advice on a public board from random people, who may or may not be...

    Need some Professional/Legal advise!

In my personal opinion, the best solution would be to speak with an attorney in your state specializing in employment law and explain your current situation. Obviously, the point is to minimize or eliminate any possible present or future liability caused from the incident(s), which the attorney...

Robber killed with his own gun during robbery

While that may be true, it may be a weak argument at best. Deadly force in self defense can ONLY be used in certain situations, ie. imminent great bodily harm or death. We don't know all the facts, but from whats available, I'm guessing the homeowner might face criminal charges.
