Not arguing that the NSX wasn't a failure (in terms of sales). It was/is. Just saying that the reasons why owners love the car (a taste of next-gen performance hybrid technology but available today for <$1M) continue to be validated....

Try in Sport+ or Track mode when revs are above 5K. This is the only circumstance where shift speeds matters (WOT upshifts), and it is effectively instant. In "Sport" mode, the car is not very responsive-- and not just the slow shifting. I agree that they should tweak this in software. But...

Even when in Sport+ or Track Modes? Agree that "Sport" shift logic is lazy--- and it's shy about the EV boost also. My solution would be to allow an "Individual" mode, where you can separately specify all the parameters of the car: steering, suspension, throttle map, shift logic, exhaust...

Perhaps a benefit of living in Oklahoma? Per the owner's manual track-prep guidelines, I use Mobil 1. I think the first four oil changes are free, but they charge extra for the Mobil 1. Here's my bill. (Concord, CA (in SF Bay Area))

With synthetic oil, C7 Z06 oil charge is about $160. NSX was about $300.

70% Residual on a two-year lease/ownership is not that bad, really. I assume 50% over five years, but front-loaded.

That's why I keep a couple in the garage. But the NSX is still 100X sexier and "better for the ego" as the OP points out.

I'll bet the median selling price for the new NSX is still MSRP. The steep discounts exist, but they are isolated. Other than Ferraris and Porsche GT cars, the norm for even "lightly used" cars in this price range is a big discount. Here's a 2K mile 570S with an asking price of $30K off MSRP...

I think the point is that "unique and cool" is often more attractive than "fastest" or even "best." In big cities, no 911 will turn heads or get second looks (apart from the 0.1% of people who notice a 911R or GT3 RS or whatever). I think it is an objective reality that the new NSX gets more...

There is zero chance that these numbers are correct. Zero.

Although I agree with the main thrust of this argument, keep in mind that Acura *DID NOT ALLOW* anyone to order the car *WITHOUT* the carbon brakes until some time around the beginning of the year--- well after the speculative orders were placed.

Love the aftermarket support for this car! Keep us posted.

The NSX should be particularly bad in the second half of a 1/2 mile straight-line race since there is no benefit to AWD, little benefit from electrics and yet you still have the physics of accelerating all that weight.

25MPG easily doable. I've gotten close to 30MPG in Quiet mode cruising around 65MPH.
