1991 Acura NSX Black on Black Window Tinting - Looking for advice & recommendations

Hi everyone,

I finally have all the items on my '91 sorted out that I purchased in early 2015. After almost one year sitting in my garage, spending time on my own sourcing required parts, and figuring out a way to get it to look and drive as best as it can, I'm getting a lot closer to finally enjoy my dream car this summer. I've recently returned to the forum, to get in touch with everyone again.

I have thinking about tinting my windows and I want to ask other's opinion on a couple of questions I have.

1) What level of tinting should I consider that you have found looks best on a black on black vehicle. I am cognizant that the car looks great right now without them, so if I do anything should I get 35% all around or darker? In Toronto, Ontario the law requires 35% nothing darker, but I've been told going darker is usually not a problem.

2) The rear hatch I've been told is hard to bend the 35% around, so with this in mind, 'should' I go down darker to a 20% if they have trouble installing?

3) I have done a lot of research calling around local places (I live in Toronto), but I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for a Window tinting specialist in Toronto that someone is aware of.

Thanks in advance for all your help and suggestions.

try posting in your regional thread....I have no experience with tint.

I have 85%. Yes it is illegal and yes it is dark driving at night but it almost completely fixes the glare on all of the dash componants.

If you choose not to tint dark, you can still go with a clear UV tint. Certainly easier to drive at night that way and not worry about passing inspection.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I don't have the courage to go as dark as Jinks, I'm thinking of a 35% all around - not to dark, not to light just a nice even tint on the windows.

One thing though, I do not have oem berlina black paint. It is a custom color with a lot of blue metallic in it. Which makes it look much darker in the shade with a bluish hue in the sunlight. But it does match the wheels almost perfect.
The only drawback to being so dark is you can no longer see the engine and the blower. But I like it.

Thanks for the feedback. That's a nice color you chose btw.

I have a white on black NSX and I tinted mine 30%. My TL is also 30%. Dark interior will appear darker. During the day you can sorta see through but not clearly. It's darker at night. Lowest I would go is 20%. (% I got by are the lower the darker. Someone said 85% above but I think they meant 15% since that's darker.)
