Thought this might be interesting...

My first car was a yellow '56 T-Bird. It was originally that turquoise color, but had been repainted pale yellow. Purchased it in early 1974 for $1200. Damn, cars were cheap back then.

Here's my parade of vehicles:
'69 Bug (destroyed)
'79 Moped (stolen)
'74 Corolla (blown head gasket)
'73 Corolla (blown head gasket redux)
'68 Bug (transmission seized)
'87 CRX Si (bought new -- still my daily driver)
'94 NSX (yippee!)

'91 Daihatsu Charade (45hp whoohaah)
'77 Toyota Celica

And all this before I turned 21...

My first car was a 1965 MGB. Red with a Black interior (Red Piping).

The convertable top required about 5 minutes to stow or deploy! First remove about 30 snaps, then fold the top and stow it in a bag in the trunk, then remove the frame, break it down and put it in its own bag in the trunk!

I sold the car to pay my tuition in college. Somtimes I still miss it.

Used '70 240Z. I rebuilt it with a '73 interior ('70 parts unavailable when I bought it) and bored and stroked the engine to 2.9L. Triple side draft Mikuni Solex. Swapped to a 5-speed. It would give a stock NSX a spanking. But I had to work on the damn thing every other week. Keeping triple side-drafts in sync was its own occupation! When I bought the NSX, I gave the Z to my neighbor, who was a big Z fan. Sadly, he later sold it for $9K to buy his fiancee a wedding ring... Unfortunately, he didn't tell me until after the fact, or I probably would have bought it back!

How can you give away a Z like that? That thing is a classic!

BTW, I met the famed Mr. K (the Nissan executive that's been credited with the birth of the Z car) several years ago and had him sign my Z Owner's Manual. The man was so old he could barely walk...

Got a '65 Mustang when I was 1 year old (in 1969) but it needed work by the time I was ready to drive, so my dad bought me a '77 Orange Vega - ick.

First car I bought myself was an '84 Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible. I loved that car.

My very first car was a 1983 Dodge Aries K Wagon with a 4spd manual transmission. It was White and had a bench seat. I called it the "fridge" because that's what it looked like. My favorite car was my first project car; a 1976 Lancia Scorpion (Monte Carlo). I modded it with Abarth cams and dual Weber Carbs. It was my mini mid-engine Ferarri that also shot flames out of the exhaust. It also left me stranded a number of times, the worst being in a snow storm when the sub frame supporting the engine broke and dropped the tranny onto the road!

Altogether I have owned approximately 25 cars with the NSX being the best so far.

I'll try to get these in order

'71 Ford Galaxy 500 Station Wagon

The car I learned to drive on. Perhaps one of the biggest station wagons ever made. No, it didn't have wood panels. But it did have a gigatic V8 that guzzled gas and an overall weight well over 4000 lbs.

It had extremely sensitive powersteering allowing you to navigate a parking lot using only a single finger to turn the large steering wheel. And at high speeds it would literally feel like a boat on the waves.

Inside the interrior was tastefully done up in brown vinyl. From the brown vinyl bench seats to the brown dash which after only a few years started to flake off in big chunks revealing the yellow foam underneath.

Everyone in our family called it the "Firebreather" probably due to the huge hoodline and big mouth on the front.

Fortunetly it blew up with only 90k miles on it.

Since they I haven't owned a single American car. Then recently I borrowed a newer model Ford F150 in order to move some furnature. I was shocked at how much a 25 year newer Ford reminded me of the old Galaxy 500-- from the placement of controls to general feel while driving down the road.
