Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Still on:

2 PM for a late lunch
4391 Lake Vista Drive
Dexter, MI

Tim and Liz,
Thanks for being such great hosts - we had a lovely time. Love your garage floor (and everything else) you did on that awesome home.
At some point we'll get the name of the company that installed the garage floor.
Can't wait for NSXPO!
Judi (and Brian)

Sorry we missed the gathering at Tim & Liz's home :frown: Had an Awesome Vaca in T.C. bought a bunch of cases of wine to restock the cellar & ate at some really great restaurants. Hope everyone has a GREAT TIME at NSXPO !!!! Linda & I will try to make it next year, hopefully in Ohio & closer to Home Turf

Dave L.

Sorry we missed you. Next time, we will have a drive, food, and some wine. Hopefully, another race to watch as well.

New plate finally arrived! No idea why this website insists on flipping my image upside down! Ay pics from NSXPO to share? Also hoping for a nice weekend to meet some NSX's on the East side or in GR before winter arrives.
Great plate Scott, we'll get some pictures from NSXPO (and VIR) up after Petit LeMans.......

Brian

Quick funny story from our road trip to NSXPO, then Petit LeMans with the red car.........

While en route from VIR to Road Atlanta we stopped for lunch and when we went to pop the trunk with the electric release in the driver's door, it didn't "click".
OK, no big deal.......we'll open it with the key.
Well, apparently we've been driving the car for the last 5 years with the "valet" key on the remote keyfob....so access to the trunk with all our luggage inside was DENIED.
(Fill in your 4 letter word of choice here **** )
Check into the hotel and find the closest Honda dealership, and they cut us a full key from our valet version for a whopping $5.35.
Gotta love a Honda!

Game. Back. On.

My car is parked in between turn 5 & 6. Saw a GA owner yesterday.

Awesome, we worked at Turn 6 and saw your car (had a CF NSX-R rear wing) and the GA red Targa as well.
Our '92 was at at worker parking, so never made it into the inner part of the track.

Had a great time, and will miss the epic racing of ALMS for sure!

(a little bit of Atlanta red clay from Petit LeMans made it back home with us, on the tires and in the fenderwells ;-)

Neat photos, Brian!

Seeing those two black bear cubs up in that oak tree gobbling acorns was really exciting! North side of Fontana Dam.

What a trip, and ten days away from home with 1,741 miles onto our LBBP. NSXPO was so well executed - location, hotel, rooms, food, two armed security guards patrolling the NSX infested ( 107 of them! ) parking lot all three nights 10p til 6 a - what's not to like? The view from our sixth floor room morning and evening, looking down on NSX's of all years and colors, what a sight.

Maybe more on that stuff later, but after climberao (Alan Offsie) posted photos on smugmug or something, you guys have to have to see pic # 210 here -

Where our favorite NSX Tech is getting his eyes full.

Epic.

I had an opportunity to visit at "Road and Track" mag HQ in Ann Arbor recently. The following article motivated the visit:
"The open-wheeled stars have aligned again, and it's almost uncanny what they've revealed: a McLaren Honda Formula 1 team, again. It's been roughly 20 years since the chassis constructor and engine supplier worked together and achieved phenomenal success, with four consecutive driver's and constructor's championships from 1988 to 1991. For those keeping score, that's a total of 44 wins, 53 poles, and 30 fastest laps in a total of 80 grand prix races.

"And we have a bit of a memento of that era sitting in our lobby, actually. It's a McLaren Honda MP4/6, of the same type that took Ayrton Senna to the team's final titles of that incredible run of wins. It's an incredible car, from an incredible era, piloted by arguably the best F1 driver ever. That's what McLaren Honda represents to any F1 fan with a sense of perspective."

So a few pics of not just the McLaren, but the original Cyclops from 1957. And btw, do not try to sit in the McLaren unless you weigh less than 140 lbs and there is help nearby to extract you in case you get stuck. Tight spaces!

NOT gonna fit!

Drivers the size of jockeys, eh?

In case of fire, I would not be escapable from that.

From the sixth floor of NSXPO host Hilton Garden Inn. Each morning. It was tough to "take."

The "Bee" .... the angry "Bee" .. with some LBBP inside

.............hahahah group buy on yellow intake surround...decal optional......

For those local guys going to the Suburban Acura on Haggerty, which mechanic would you trust replacing the timing belt on your NSX. We may do it in the Spring and wondering who you have work on your car. We get the oil done there but I know some of you trust only one or two guys there. Thanks guys.....

Looking fwd to Spring already, dropping the car lower to the ground w/ some pretty new shoes to debut in 2014.

Mike michalik. and that's the only one!

Thank you for the help I appreciate it.

In total agreement with Patrick -- Mike Michalik. In fact I doubt that anyone else in that shop has had the NSX training. You should be aware that whenever any of the local NSX gang has their cars at Suburban Mike is the one who takes care of them. See PM for additional information.

Best,
Jeff
