New Gran Turismo 5 details from GamesCom in Germany (August 18, 2009)

I am a fan of forza, however i am waiting for the next NFS, since it will be a throwback to what the original one was with the cockpit view.......

you brake you get thrown forward and the view changes, you can look left or right out your windows at your opponents while still driving straight, you get dizzy etc when crashed or spun around.

I play NFS on Sega Saturn so i am looking forward to this.

NFS Shift does look really good. I will probably pick it up also.

As for NFS: Shift, when I tried it at E3 I found some of the in-cockpit camera movements more distracting than adding to the experience...and, in some cases, found myself over compensating with steering because of it. It is definitely a step in a better direction for the series (definitely closer to the original concept of its earliest incarnation), but I am not sure if I will be picking it up.

I really need to get a better wheel. Did you try the fanatec wheels? They make me nervous since it is such a small company based in germany. Logitech has always been reliable and good to me... but they don't support Xbox which makes me really mad. I am sure it is not because they don't want to. My guess is MS doesn't want them to support xbox. No idea why since they work on windows!

Damn right --- I want one wheel not two. Since X-Box 360 is a glorifed PC maybe someone can develop a hack for it.

Plus NFS:Most Wanted thats the one they need to model the new game on.

That's a nice looking setup. I have the VRC1 which I really like and it was only $300 or so. It's not as plush, but it's really comfortable and has a Formula seating position which is pretty cool.

I think I'll stick with my setup.
Now who is up for a little competition at my place once GT5 releases.
