Post pictures of your racing seats??

When I checked on my Roadsters they were not available from the factory in leather. Mine were originally black fabric, with black soft plastic for the wear areas.

I had my seats shipped to Stitchcraft. They let me pick the exact shade and quality of leather. Only the front of my seats are covered, the back has exposed black fiberglass. It took 3 months and they charged $400 for each seat.

I'm doing a lot of other work to my car so it's up on jackstands. I haven't driven it with the Sparcos installed, but I think the OEM seats are going to be hard to beat for comfort. I'm holding onto my OEM seats just in case I don't like the Sparcos. They sure do smell good though.

The Sparcos have one big advantage over OEM seats. They're tight on my butt, and I'm 6' and 165lbs. No fat chicks allowed! Now I can honestly say "Sorry honey, I'd love to take you for a ride, but your butt won't fit in the car."

Whoa! Damn.....I'm 6' and 205 lbs. I guess that's a no go for me. I've been looking for a set of side-mounted seats so they sit lower and my helmet doesn't rub on the ceiling. My butt's not big by any means, but I float between a 34-36 inch waist. Any additional comments on the Roadsters? I was really eyeballing them, too. :(

final pic...

X-TNSIV....I just bought the Sparco Torino's as well for my NSX and was trying to figure out what rails to use. Which ones did you use, and were you lower to the ground than in the OEM seats? Thanks a bunch! :)

Here are MY RACING SEATS.

Very nice, Mark. It looks like you have the ability to use the OEM belt for daily driving, right? How about some details on what you used, i.e., harness bar, belts and how you modded the seat?

I love my Roadsters! To my suprise they are the most comfortable roadtrip seat I have sat in. Although a friend of mine who is 6'1" 215lb and I think has about the same waist as you(Viper Driver) cannot sit all the way back in the seat:) But I thought they sell these seats with different widths/sizes? Mo - Elite.

Gene,

I have the Dali harness bar (BTW, the folks who installed the bar had to cut the B-pillar to make it work), the harness is from the local performance shop "Harder Performance", who also did the install, and "Turner Auto Upholstery" did the seat mod.

The seat mod includes an invisible leather frame around a slot in the leather and padding; and a small hole in the aluminum seat pan. There was a belt anchor installed under each seat for the 5th point.

Yes I still have the OEM belts as well (less hassel to wear around town).

Yes, I would recommend this route for those who want to retain the OEM seats. Total cost was just over $1,100 but I didn't do any of the work.

Wondering if anyone has these seats installed? I am interested in getting these seats but not sure if they will fit in the X. Any input will be much appreciated.

Jim,

How's the seat installation going?

Taj,
Thanks for asking.
I finally got the seat in. It took me and my friend about 5 hours to put this shit in. Excuse me. I'm using the base and side mount from sparco. Damn suck, there was alots of modification and time in to it. I swear i will never install this again! Here's a picture.

Btw, are you going the next speed trial event?

Check these guys out. I work for this company. They're manufacturers of custom aftermarket leather interiors. It's another option if one is interested in something custom; they can do ANYTHING. They offer over 500 leather colors, embroidery, perforatoin, colored stitching, seat heaters, etc. This interior runs for $695us. Email for more pics and info.
Cheers

For those that have the Sparco Torino seats....I checked the Sparco catalog and they do not list a seat rail for the NSX. Did you all get the Sparco rail? If so, where, and how well does it fit? Also, do you sit any higher or lower with the Sparco combo in your car? I have the seats just waiting for the proper rails to install them with. Thanks a bunch! :)

I would jump at a bunch of those seats shown but I really don' t want the huge name across the head rest.

Also Sparco doesn't recommend the roadsters for track use (or atleast racing) does anyone have any comments on that?

Thanks

I purchased torino 2's with the taitec bottom mount seat rails. havent fitted them yet. I'm sure this was covered in another thread somewhere tthough, if i remember correctly!:)

Any help with comparisons of the Recaro SPG and Pole Position next to each other, or just more pictures of them in the NSX, would be appreciated.
