At what time do you feel is the right time to retire/or? I have worked for Ball Corp. for 28 years. I'm 56, just worked my 2nd 72 hour week(12hr nights) in a row. I can see it isn't going to get any better. $46 per year of service retirement with SS couldn't pay my car payment and PG&E. Thank god for 401k!

If anyone has stock in Ball corp., if it were mine I would dump it soon.
My nextdoor neighbor has been with Ball(Aerospace) for 25 years. Why the recommendation to dump the stock?

it's probably just me, but i'm not sure i would carry the "employee says dump this stock" thread much further.

Aerospace is just a small part of Ball and they have had great successes. The stock statment wasn't a fare thing to say, historically Ball has had outstanding returns on thier stock. I guess I'm just a bit pissed at the direction this company seems to be headed. They just seem to be eliminating all the experienced people on the production level, supervisors down, while the management swells. I can't speak for the Aerospace portion but I would guess they are facing similar reductions. I work in the metal container division which is the back bone of this corp. The plant I work at has made record profits for the last 30 yrs with only a few minor bumps. I just don't see the capital investment in our plant that has kept us on the competitive edge. What used to be a clear picture of where the company is headed has become clouded. Think I just have a bad case of job burnout.
