Free body diagram? Free your mind, man! The real question is whether a rotating helicopter body would force air to move around it such that there is still movement of air past the blades! If the body has a CD of zero, the answer is obviously no go.

OK.... you said "performance", "reliability" and "cost of maintenance". You did not say "looks", "prestige", "engineering", "refinement", "bling", etc. You also did not say it had to be new nor still in production. For a new car, I would agree with a Cayman for performance and reliability...
