Thanks for the the replies. I would take it to a tech had i known it would end up this way... and since i've managed to get everything off (quite a learning experince) it would be a shame and a waste of time if i throw in the towel and hand it to a mech...
I over torqued and snapped the valve cover stud. and when i took the valve cover off to replace the stud, I accidently dropped the broken stud (bolt A) in between the cams and the cover plate. At that time I thought no biggie, i whipped out my trust magneitic pick up took which got kept on...
What is the difference between testing on 1st rather than on 2nd?
Also based on m findings on prime, can any one tell me why tcs should be turned off during the test? and is this a common knowledge for the techs?

thanks larry, I actually took a visegrip and a harbor freight ball joint remover and used that as a press. when it finally popped out made this loud bang.
Hi, I am in the process of replacing the ball joint for the lower arm. Was able to press the ball joint (moog k9643) but the stud is too short when i tried to use the the spacer/washer. is it ok to use any washer? I know the oem washer is made to cup the metal sleeevee, and has a tight fit.
