After much searching and several cancelled purchases, it appears most of the bolt-on (direct-fit) CARB cat options are not CA smog legal anymore. Several shops pointed me back to either the magnaflow or walker weld-on cats as the only CA options.
Does anyone know if there is enough room...
AFAIK CA allows installing CARB aftermarket cats for emissions compliance reasons, but not for performance reasons. There's some sort of papertrail from what Im starting to discover. I guess Im going to find out the hard way tomorrow...
I was wondering how the aftermarket CARB cats (such as magnaflow and flowmaster) mount on the car. They don't have flanges on them. Do I take the old cats to a muffler shop and have them cut and re-weld the flanges onto the new cats? Or is there another way? I also see a bolt-on aftermarket...
Les Posen's blog presents some interesting yet incorrect arguments. He implies that the finder did not attempt to identify the owner, yet all published reports I have seen indicate the finder thought he already knew the owner (ie, someone from his drinking circle) and that he took the phone...
I think apple is the one with questionable conduct here. The response has been disproportionately heavy handed considering the whole episode was started by apple's own incompetence. If keeping the prototype secret was important enough to warrant deploying a multi-agency task force to bust down...
Ive been grappling with the same problem as well ever since they stopped making the yoko a022's. The last tire change Ive gone with OEM bridgestones up front and direzza Z1 star specs in the rear. The Z1 star specs are slightly more expensive than the dz101's you mentioned, but they are also...
Over the past decade Ive had some pretty large rocks strike the windshield. Most usually glance off harmlessly (or leave behind a tiny pit at worst.) Today it met its match and finally cracked.
Im leaning towards OEM glass at the moment. Not sure if this rules some shops out. Searching...
Unfortunately Honda scored yet another industry first - they hired Fukui. Unless Toyota follows Honda's lead and manages to hire an equally incompetent president and CEO, Honda will have a difficult time catching up. Honda's past engineering triumphs alone do not guarantee success. It...
Have you figured out what you are going to do with respect to the transmission? If I recall, the crank on all Honda engines before the S2000 rotate the opposite direction compared to almost every other manufacturer.
