Thank you for the compliment. If you get a Type-R hood, Iatuner was perfect with his service! I can't be more pleased. I have him quoting me on some other items as well.

Yeah I REALLY want one. Then with his pricing, and good reputation, it'll be from him. I just dont think I'm quite ready for this mod. Still some motor and suspension upgrades/mods/tweaking I want to do first. That and I'm going on unemployed month 7, searching going on month 9-10. Gotta count my pennies.

Sorry if I missed it, but we have idea if these are for weight savings or for looks? I'm sure there is 6-7 pounds to be gained from these IF they were made for that purpose. Thats fifteen pounds or 1 1/2 HP, thats not "nothing" to many of us. I'm very interested in both, but I need either the total weight, or better yet the savings, thats not asking too much is it. Thanks

Why is the hood called "NA1"? NA1 is an engine code. All 1991-2001 hoods are identical, and were used on all '91-96 cars (with the NA1 3.0-liter engine) as well as on all '97-01 cars (both those with the NA1 3.0-liter engine and automatic transmission, as well as those with the NA2 3.2-liter engine and six-speed transmission). This hood should fit the '97-01 cars with the NA2 engine as well as the other '91-01 cars with the NA1 engine.

If this is the same hood that my neighbor, m3456y, bought last spring, i'll take a hood! It fits great and looks top drawer since he got it painted GPW to match his car. Do you offer the radiator duct as well?

Nobody actually answered the question of how much do one of these CF hood weigh compared to OEM. Weight is a good selling point as somebody here pointed out earlier. So what's the weight of the VIS hood?

If it's lighter than OEM, I want one.

the oem hood is pretty light. and the CF hood he is selling is Fiberglass Carbonfiber. I don't think you are going to see much weight savings on this one.

However, the total weight saving compared to OEM is rather small.
VIS RacingSports Type-R FRP/CF: 6.8 kg = 15.0 lbs
OEM Hood: 7.4 kg = 16.3 lbs

Total weight savings: 1.3 lbs.

One remark though, this was all before I had the VIS-hood painted. So the difference is even smaller now I got it painted.
