1993 with check engine light HELP

I have a 93 NSX. I was driving it for about 10 mins and the check engine light came on. I turned the car off and when I started it back up the light was gone. I drove it today and after 10 mins it came back on. On a 93 how do I check it? Is this an OBD 1 or 2 car and where is the connection for it? If it is an OBD 1 what is a good one to buy. I have an OBD 2 so if I can use that one, it would make it much easier.

I looked under the driver side dash and I could not see a port for OBD?

Thank You

You have a OBD1 car,

In the pass side footwell, remove the carpet just under the glove box, you'll find a white connector with a black and white cable, (in the top right corner on top of your sub woofer)
This is your service test connector, you will need to jump the two terminals with a metal paperclip.

This will trigger the ECU to display error message via a Morse code system trough your check engine light in the dash cluster.

Take a look here for detailed explanation >>> http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Trouble_Codes <<<

I was finally able to get out there and check it. I recorded the flashing but its like morse code to me.

I think it is telling me that the Front KS Circuit Malfunction. I have no idea what that means. So far it drives fine and has had no issues but I do want it fixed. Any help would be great.

Thanks
John

i think KS stands for knock sensor. ck your wiring first. if im correct, i think its under the intake manifold. but thats just a guess.

John, if you would like to fix it yourself could I suggest the following;

1) Download the free Shop manual from the Wiki
2) Go to page 11-62 and read about the knock sensors, where they are, and how to test them.
3) The procedure will suggest whether you have one or two defective knock sensors or a defective ECU.
4) If you need parts you can look for them here:http://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...harness-clamp/?trim=nsx&engine=5-speed-manual
5) Once you have the free manual on your computer you can look up almost everything that can happen to your NSX.

If wrenching is not your forte then perhaps it's best to go to a dealer.
