Here is my steering wheel upgrade on my NSX. THought I'd share some photos.
Much thanks for Nero Tenebre for his great DIY thread and personally consulting me, as well as my partner Alex (ArfNSX) for doing the labor with me.

if you get the srs cable reel from that year the steering wheel came from you could get the volume and cruise to work.

and have a working airbag.

it look nice

Let me guess---looks like a Civic Si steering wheel. Those wheels have a really nice feel to them. Pretty work---

Yep, that's the one. I'm now waiting on the Carbon Fiber cover they make for it. Once I add it I will post more pictures. Maybe next week or so though because I am now out of town.

THanks

I'd still have to get the PAC SWI to make the volume work though wouldn't I? The volume button never worked with the Pioneer Z2 to begin with lol. THat would be a great option to have though. I'm fiddling around with it all to get it to where I want it though.

Shiny knobs on the CCU, nice touch

Down in the coin tray, are those seat warmer and driving light switches?

No, I have my running lights tied to my parking lights. In the coin tray you are correct, those are my seat warmers.

Thanks

Looks nice, congratulations and glad to be of help! Though this thread really belongs in the pic and video forum, or the electronics forum where you find a lot of the interiors. ;)

Truth lol. My bad. Because I didn't post ANY of the "during" photos. THanks again though bro. Due to your thread and your consulting me I knew everything to look for going into this job and we knocked it out without incident.

firstly, props to you for being the first to do this (I think)... but:

it looks out of place, the patterns on the wheel are very different from the rest of the car, and its just odd.. And really, come on, just out of a "rule-to-live-by", I'd never want anything Honda CIVIC in my NSX....

The RSX wheel (even though we are still lowering our standars to a RSX), flows a little nicer I think...

He isn't the first to do it, and I would consider almost anything an upgrade from the 1980s ACURA lettered airbag/wheel combo. The stock wheel dates the interior back 30 years in era design, almost entirely by itself! It's not like it's made from titanium or wrapped in carbon fiber.

+1

I couldn't have worded it better Nero. The older steering wheel looks like a Honda Accord. I do like the RSX steering wheel though. I like it a lot. The S2000 as well, and the one I chose too of course. It's all a matter of preference. I happen to think it looks pretty clean comparatively speaking. Definitely feels better with a nicer thicker grip. At the same time though I know that no matter what ANY of us choose to do there are some who will like it and some who will not. Individuality....makes it interesting:biggrin:

I love the look of the civic wheel and would like to do the same on my NSX. Can you provide more info on what is needed to do the swap? Does the civic wheel fit the NSX or does it require an adapter?

Turbo2go I dont think he has it hooked up.

I personally like my airbag. knowing it will deploy if I need it.
